I-80 Football Show: Is Penn State on upset watch?

Welcome to a new episode of Land-Grant Podcast Network’s I-80 Football Show. On this show, we travel down I-80 to talk all things Big Ten Football. This is the only Big Ten Podcast that’ll cover all 18 teams. After every week of action, we will catch you up on all the conference’s games and look ahead at the matchups, storylines, and players you should be paying attention to for the next week. My name is Jordan Williams, and I am joined by my co-host Dante Morgan. Dante and Jordan are back but before we can get into the Big Ten we have to talk about the drama out west. Instead of merging with the Mountain West, the PAC-12 is trying to poach teams but it is not working. After the AAC spurned the PAC-12 they are left with nothing but the remaining Mountain West schools they didn't want originally and now they’re suing to try and avoid paying poaching fees. The West is a mess right now, including UNLV whose starting quarterback just decided to redshirt because they did not meet a verbal NIL commitment. This is why all athletes need to get their NIL commitments in a written contract but until then we may see more athletes decide to take a redshirt versus playing for free or less than expected.  Back to the Big Ten, we’re set up for a banner weekend starting with Rutgers vs. Washington on Friday night. After outlasting Virginia Tech, Rutgers is hoping to keep their momentum and improve to 4-0. After defeating Nebraska, Illinois is undefeated before their showdown with Penn State. Penn State is more talented but they’ve already shown flaws including playing a close game with Bowling Green. Illinois is much better than Bowing Green, Penn State has been inconsistent and should be on upset watch. After losing to Michigan USC has to face Wisconsin, USC’s rude welcome may last another week because Michigan gave the blueprint to beating the Trojans and Wisconsin should be able to run on Lincoln Riley's defense.  For this week’s Mapuest, Friday is Washington at Rutgers. On Saturday we have Maryland at Indiana at Noon. Wisconsin-USC mid-day with Illinois going to Happy Valley for the primetime slot. After taking a week off, Big Ten After Dark is back with Oregon and UCLA.  In their weekly pitstop, Dante can’t believe that WNBA legend Sheryl Swoopes won’t just admit she was wrong about Caitlin Clark instead deciding to minimize her legacy so Caitlin looks less impressive. Jordan, despite being a Steeler, is happy for Justin Fields and his continued growth. It’s amazing what being a part of a real franchise can do for a player's confidence and ability. It’s been three games but Fields already looks like a different player.  --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you like the show, please share it with friends and family and leave a five-star review. Silver Bullets Podcast: Marshall rewind and Michigan State preview

Ohio State improved to 3-0 on the season but it wasn’t the most crisp performance. It seemed as if the Buckeyes went ultra-vanilla on defense against Marshall and simply relied on the offense to make plays. It worked, because the Buckeyes won by five touchdowns. Despite the offense looking like improved, the concerns have moved to the defensive side of the ball, although whether it’s a case of not showing all Ohio State’s cards yet or an actual weakness of the team remains to be seen. We break down the victory over the Thundering Herd, look back at our score predictions and check to see if our OSU picks to click impressed on Saturday. We might have gushed a little about the running game, too. After our Marshall recap, we looked around the league to see what everyone else was doing. There were more conference games this week pitting B1G vs. B1G, including one of the most entertaining games of the season so far in Illinois-Nebraska. We were not impressed with USC’s first road game to the midwest, but the Trojans still would have won had Lincoln Riley perhaps paid any attention whatsoever to clock management or the trends in the game. Finally, we looked ahead to Ohio State’s 2024 Big Ten opener on the road this weekend against the Michigan State Spartans under the lights. The Spartans have a new head coach, a new quarterback, and lots of talented guys. Will it be enough? Will Ohio State’s defense come to play with some different looks? Will Tyleik Williams play? We will find out Saturday night. We would love to hear from you, so please reach out with your feedback and questions below in the comments section or send us an email. Any questions directed toward us will be answered on our next show. Be sure to subscribe, rate, review, share, and follow the show over on Twitter at @SilvrBulletsPod. As always, thanks for listening! 0:20 - A 49-14 win over Marshall that was not without its struggles at times. 28:20 - Other results around the B1G, including an entertaining affair between Illinois and Nebraska. 47:00 - Our look ahead to the Michigan State Spartans. Power Two Podcast: Lincoln Riley is on Fraud Watch

Welcome to a new episode of Land-Grant Podcast Network’s Power Two Podcast. On this show, we talk about Big Ten and SEC football…and everyone else. This show is for the die-hard fans and the casual college football fans. After every week of action, we will catch you up on all the major matchups of the previous weekend and look ahead at the games, storylines, and players you should be paying attention to for the next week. My name is Jordan Williams, and I am joined by my co-host DaNaysia Jones. Lock in as we run a power sweep through the college football landscape. Jordan and DJ start with some lackluster news about the PAC-12 and recap Week Four. Stanford and Syracuse start Week Four off with a great competitive matchup. Illinois continues to dominate with their first 4-0 start since 2011, but is it because they are playing teams that are so much worse than them? Michigan and USC had an absolute mid-off and Michigan walking away with the win just didn’t sit right with us.  The Power rankings showcased the addition of Illinois at 19 and it sparked another conversation about the exclusion of teams that have 4-0 records. Why isn’t Indiana ranked? We need an explanation.  In this week’s Pregame Power Sweep, we suggested these games: Friday: VT - Miami. Noon: UK - Ole Miss or Maryland - IU,  Mid-Day: Fresno - UNLV or Louisville - ND, Primetime: UGA - Bama or Illini - PSU and After Dark: Arizona - Utah. DJ mentions SMU’s first ACC matchup against Florida State. We also noticed that we correctly pointed out several of the good games from last week so we are on a roll with our predictions.   In the two-minute warning, Jordan explains the Justin Fields Agenda. He is very pleased with the transition that he has made to the Steelers and how it is making the case that he is, indeed, a formidable quarterback. DJ shares that she will be keeping us updated on the WNBA Playoffs that are now underway. She explained which teams were competing and her thoughts on who would win it all. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you like the show, please share it with friends and family and leave a five-star review.
