Feeling Sound, Breathing Life

By Igor Ezendam

Hello dear listener, my name is Igor and I love sound. To sing, to express my emotions through my voice and through my musical instruments, to vibrate inside, to listen and discover silence, this is my world. My focus has been on learning to feel on all levels of being.

Now that we are talking about ‘Riding The Waves Of Change In Love’ for this Nectar Edition, I feel to bring some relaxation through sound, with its promise of regeneration. When we focus on our breath, on our sound, on the vibrations and sensations, all these can come together to give a full picture of the different levels of our experience in this moment. We can learn to observe and experience at the same time…

As a part time nerd, I am still learning how to express myself fully and authentically. As a voice teacher, though, I have done some inner work that has not only facilitated my ability to create overtones, also called ‘vocal harmonics’, on top of my ‘normal’ singing voice, but also to find a certain peace inside, a gift that comes when I sing. I express my inner world and feel it resounding through all my bodies: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.

I discovered for myself that singing not only helps to feel the tensions we hold inside our bodies, moving sound vibration through our system actually helps relax these tensions immensely. I have many examples of students feeling partial or total pain relief, after only an hour of singing together.

We practice listening inside after singing, to feel our body’s responses, the energy moving, this remarkable quiet in the head, and the whole body feeling like a mountain.

This temporary peace of mind, this silence after a round of singing exercises, like the ones I’m about to share with you, is awesome and worth discovering for yourself.

I would want you to feel in your body what I’m talking about. To feel powerful in your sound and peaceful in your silence. And I have a plan to make that happen. Will you let me guide you? If the answer is yes, then I will take you through a few exercises and points of you that, in my experience, help balance life....thank you for listening.
