Marc Savard's time with the Calgary Flames has come to an end. The Flames announced that the club and Savard have mutually parted ways. Savard ran the Flames less than stellar powerplay for the 2023-24 season. The results weren't entirely his fault considering his personnel. Last year it was rumored that Alex Tanguay would be joining the staff. He has since accepted a position with the Detroit Red Wings.

Craig Conroy did not have a clean slate coming in as the Calgary Flames General Manager. The best thing that could've happened was Elias Lindholm turning down a massive extension and requesting a trade. That happened. Noah Hanifin and Chris Tanev also found themselves new homes.
