    This week I spoke to illustrator and Top Skillshare Teacher, Tom Froese. In our conversation, we talked about his process and how he developed his style of illustration, how he built an audience on Instagram, and the behind the scenes of creating a Skillshare class. Tom not only shares his illustrations online, but also shares his thoughts through micro-blog posts in his captions, and shares his process on Skillshare. After teaching in a University, Tom wasn't sure teaching was for him, but when Skillshare reached out to him to teach a course, he accepted and now is a top Skillshare teacher. Laughing Samurai is a UX/UI company with clients ranging from UCF to Microsoft with a focus on being bolder and faster than the competition. In our conversation, Gilbert and I talked about the difference between traditional layout and UX/UI design, we took a deep dive into his work for UCF, and we covered the importance of typography in UX/UI design. With a background in more traditional layout design, Gilbert brought a great perspective to UX/UI design that gives a practical way to approach the field, especially for those coming from a print background.
