We talk about wine, whiskey, nearly anything distilled, tea, coffee, beer, mead, cigars, smoked meats, and more beer. We taste and rate things along with our signature and unique rating system.
Somebody blow on my dice
SIPS Episode – A double header with Coppercraft and Lucky 7 whiskey. Plus a brand new product called Blue Run Rye. Justin will be hosting our new glue sniffing training sessions. Whiskey and movie, is that a good pairing? Some fantastic stuff that you don’t even have to be lucky to find. Yep, there is one unanimous top rating of 5 on this episode.
Who farted in the tank again?
SIPS Episode – It will be a miracle if we get to talk about Hooten Young, Va Distillery Co Courage & Conviction, Larceny Barrel Proof, Elijah Craig Barrel Proof, Old Fitzgerald Spring 2021, Murray Hill Club, Joseph Magnus in one episode. Maybe we should just have created a cuvee’ and discussed who farted in the tank, again. Wrong! These products taste so much better if you channel John Mclaughlin. There is a political certainty of 0 any of this really is accurate.
Then and Now
SUDS Episode – We revisit the beers from our Best IPAs of 2013. Our palates have evolved over time and there have been 10k IPA beers created since then. Neither Dave or Mike are better looking since the original episode was broadcast. Do you think these beers have stood the test of time?
SUDS Episode – You keep drinking this stuff and we keep talking about it. A solid dozen hard seltzer’s in another epic blind tasting. What would you call a seltzer intervention? Tim’s favorite fruit is compost pile. Our newest tasting term – Caperton’s Foot Water. Dave finally confesses that he can cook and dance. It’s only an hour and this won’t hurt.
Skunk is the word
SUDS Episode – All of these beers have one thing in common. They can be found at Aldi. Now this grocery store chain is not everywhere but with 11,235 as of this recording, there are quite a few. They have an approach with only 1 brand of many things and tend be focused on value. Besides our typical challenge of blind tasting, this kicked up the confusion factor substantially. We added a new BJCP tasting term as the “armpit of a dead aborigine.”
How hard is your Kombucha
SUDS Episode – Come and get healthy, and hammered. Our first Kombucha episode and an epic blind tasting. The taste profiles are quite broad but many of these have a fruited flavor. And now you know who wants/does not want a lemon wedge. The difference between a kettle sour and a metal trash can – survey says, zero. Dave is now a convert.
