The Walking Dead | Season 10, Episode 8 Recap: “The World Before”

Josh Wigler (@roundhoward) and Jessica Liese (@HaymakerHattie) chart a course for Bloodsworth Island and find themselves trapped in a cave filled with zombies instead.

In their discussion of season 10, episode eight, “The World Before,” Josh and Jess get into the midseason finale, in which all hell breaks loose. By “all hell,” of course, we mean a zombified fan-favorite nearly eats a baby, a confounding villain meets his maker, Michonne (Danai Gurira) sails off for a new world in an attempt to defeat the Whisperers, while Daryl (Norman Reedus) and friends end the half-season surrounded by flesh-hungry walkers in a subterranean lair.

Josh and Jess dig into all of those storylines and more, engage in listener feedback, and dive into the spoiler-filled comic book zone as well. Comic book spoilers kick in around the 59 minute mark.

The Walking Dead | Season 10, Episode 7 Recap: “Open Your Eyes”

Josh Wigler (@roundhoward) and Jessica Liese (@HaymakerHattie) talk about hemlocks and headlocks, both fatal in their own rights, in the latest episode of the Walking Dead podcast, called “Open Your Eyes.”

In their discussion of season 10, episode seven, “Open Your Eyes,” Josh and Jess cover the death of a series regular, the unmasking of a Whisperer, Carol (Melissa McBride) once again serving food as an intimidation tactic, Carol once again being horrible to a child, and Arkansas Dave Mr. Rudabot. That last one is a really niche joke but man oh man did it create some belly laughs here on this podcast.

Elsewhere, in Alexandria, disease! Sickness! Ailments! Swine flu? Okay, probably not swine flu again, but sickness all the same! Josh and Jess examine the reasons why so many of the Alexandrians are currently shacking up at the infirmary. Plus, what’s up with Eugene (Josh McDermitt) and his new radio pen pal? It’s a hard one to talk about without getting into spoilers from the comic books… good thing we have a section dedicated for that very purpose!

Josh and Jess dig into all of those storylines and more, engage in listener feedback, and dive into the spoiler-filled comic book zone as well. Comic book spoilers kick in around the one hour and four minute mark.

Josh Wigler (@roundhoward) and Jessica Liese (@HaymakerHattie) put their thoughts on the latest Walking Dead episode, entitled “Bonds,” in the ground for a little while, and they have emerged with hot takes!

In their podcast discussion of season ten, episode six, “Bonds,” Josh and Jess cover Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) going deep into the heart of Whisperer culture, butting heads with Beta (Ryan Hurst), and his newfound fascination with the queen bee herself, Alpha (Samantha Morton). Meanwhile, Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride) go on an expedition of their own into Whisperer territory, returning with something — or someone — unexpected.

Elsewhere, in Alexandria, disease! Sickness! Ailments! Swine flu? Okay, probably not swine flu again, but sickness all the same! The Walking Dead | Season 10, Episode 5 Recap: “What It Always Is”

The Walking Dead | Season 10, Episode 5 Recap: “What It Always Is”

Josh Wigler (@roundhoward) and Jessica Liese (@HaymakerHattie) tap back into the Walking Dead recapping game with their podcast about season 10, episode 5, “What It Always Is.”

Fresh from escaping Alexandria, Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) hits the open road with an uninvited guest: Brandon, a creepy Negan fanboy who grew up hearing stories about the Saviors. When Brandon’s dark hero worship takes a turn for the worse, Negan’s forced to confront his own past behavior, and even some literal relics from the past: his leather jacket, and his old friend Lucille.

Away from Negan, Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) joins Connie (Lauren Ridloff) on a mission to find her missing sister Kelly (Angel Theory), which leads to some cute moments between this not-quite-yet-a-couple. Less cute: Magna (Nadia Hilker) and Yumiko (Eleanor Matsuura), as their relationship hits a significant bump in the road. Bumpier still: King Ezekiel (Khary Payton), who reveals a deadly secret about his health.

Josh and Jess dig into all of those storylines and more, engage in listener feedback, and dive into the spoiler-filled comic book zone as well. Comic book spoilers kick in around the 58:30 minute mark.

The Walking Dead | Season 10, Episode 4 Recap: “Silence the Whisperers”

The Walking Dead | Season 10, Episode 4 Recap: “Silence the Whisperers”

The Walking Dead | Season 10, Episode 4 Recap: “Silence the Whisperers”

Josh Wigler (@roundhoward) and Jessica Liese (@HaymakerHattie) are throwing people into walls and making a break for it in their podcast discussion about The Walking Dead season 10, episode 4, “Silence the Whisperers.”

Okay, so, no actual people were thrown into the walls during the recording of this podcast. The same cannot be said for the denizens of Alexandria, as Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) kills one of the most prominent members of the Highwaymen (yep, they’re still around) in an attempt to defend ex-Whisperer Lydia (Cassady McClincy). As a result, the Alexandria council must vote on what to do about Negan — but before they can cast their ballots, he’s in the wind, his exact whereabouts currently unknown.

Over at the Hilltop, a tree has fallen, causing all kinds of panic. Ezekiel (Khary Payton) starts to doubt himself, sending him on a quest outside of the community, and into the warm embrace of an unexpected stranger: Michonne (Danai Gurira). Their connection may come somewhat out of place for fans of the show only, but comic book readers certainly read quite a bit into the scene with these two powerful warriors.

Josh and Jess dig into all of those storylines and more, engage in listener feedback, and dive into the spoiler-filled comic book zone as well. Comic book spoilers kick in around the 56 minute mark.

The Walking Dead | Season 10, Episode 3 Recap: “Ghosts”

The Walking Dead | Season 10, Episode 3 Recap: “Ghosts”

The Walking Dead | Season 10, Episode 3 Recap: “Ghosts”

Josh Wigler (@roundhoward) and Jessica Liese (@HaymakerHattie), better known as the peanut butter and jelly of Walking Dead podcasting, are here to talk about season 10, episode 3, “Ghosts.”

In “Ghosts,” Alexandria comes under relentless assault in the form of a walker herd. A brutal, sleepless 48 hours leaves everyone in full-on panic mode, and leads to the first full-on meeting between the Alexandrians and Whisperers since the infamous heads-on-spikes incident. Indeed, the meeting takes place at the sacred spike site, as Alpha (Samantha Morton) announces new borders for the feuding communities.

Not everyone likes Alpha’s new terms, least of all Carol (Melissa McBride), nursing a justifiable vendetta over the death of her son Henry — who appears in “Ghosts” as, well, a ghost of sorts! Carol goes full Jessica Spano, stays up way too long, and sees some strange hallucinations as a result. The biggest consequence: the death of a Whisperer, which may increase the heat on this developing cold war.

Some stories beyond Carol include: Aaron (Ross Marquand) and his new spike hand going on a mission with Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan); a needless falling out between Eugene (Josh McDermitt) and Rosita (Christian Serratos); and some suspicion falling upon poor Siddiq (Avi Nash).

Josh and Jess dig into all of those storylines and more, engage in listener feedback, and dive into the spoiler-filled comic book zone as well. Comic book spoilers kick in around the 1 hour mark.
