Before the 1960s there were several issues of lack of consumer protection throughout America. Consumers, in the 1960s, also did not have tools or the right to file a case against corporations. From the 1960s, consumer protection has significantly involved and therefore should be included in school textbooks. That is simply because students will be able to learn how consumer protection laws changed over time, how individuals advocated for these changes, and the several conflicts consumers faced during that time.
