Peter encourages believers to be unified, compassionate, and humble, repaying evil with blessing and seeking peace. He reassures them that suffering for righteousness brings blessing, urging them to honor Christ as Lord in their hearts and to always be prepared to give a defense of their faith gently and respectfully. He reminds them that it is better to suffer for doing good than for doing evil. Drawing on Christ's example, whose body was crucified but whose spirit is alive eternally, Peter emphasizes that their faith will ultimately lead to victory over adversity.

1 Peter 3: 1-7 discusses wives willingly submitting to their husbands, particularly when the husbands are not following God, as their conduct can serve as a form of personal evangelism. It contrasts inward, godly behavior with outward adornment and worldly attractiveness, encouraging women to emulate the faithfulness of biblical figures like Sarah. Husbands are called to love and honor their wives with understanding, acknowledging them as co-heirs of the grace of life. In so doing, their prayers and relationship with the Lord will remain unhindered.

1 Peter 2:18-25 encourages servants to submit respectfully to their masters, whether gentle or harsh, emphasizing that enduring suffering for doing good is commendable before God. It highlights Christ's example of suffering without sin or retaliation, entrusting Himself to God's judgment. By Christ's sacrifice, believers are healed and called back like lost sheep to the Shepherd of our souls.

In 1 Peter 2: 13-17, Peter instructs believers to submit to human authorities, such as kings and governors, because their authority is instituted by God. He reminds us that when we do what is good, it provides a testimony against those who would try to speak against us. The passage urges believers to live freely, but to avoid using their freedom as an excuse for wrongdoing. Additionally, Peter calls for honor for everyone, love for fellow believers, reverence for God, and honor for the king.

The Apostle Peter describes Jesus as the living stone rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to Him. It addresses the believers as a spiritual house and a holy priesthood, urging them to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. It also notes that those who reject Jesus will stumble, while those who accept Him will become God's chosen people, called out of darkness into His marvelous light.

The Apostle Peter instructs believers to prepare our minds for action, be sober, and set our hope on the grace to be brought to us at Jesus Christ's revelation. We are urged to live as obedient children, not conforming to our former desires but being holy in all our conduct, as God is holy. He reminds us that we were redeemed with the precious blood of Christ and should therefore live in reverent fear during our time on earth. We are to rid ourselves of all malice, deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander, and to crave pure spiritual milk so that we can grow up in our salvation.
