The Phonk Show Teddy Colour

Only 6 months since the last proper TPS session got uploaded. Quite the gap but I hope the @balamii sessions have been enjoyed in the mean time. This year we plan on 24 shows, 12 TPS & 12 Balamii. The Balamii shows of course focusing on live sessions with talent in person incorporating more rappers and B2B DJ's, and the TPS sessions like this one to focus on guest mixes and interviews from those overseas.

Joining me on VOL.19 was none other than Lil Rocketman. A key player in the Phonk scene right now. Originally hailing from Boulder, with a recent move to Denver. Rocketman is an active member of the community and one dedicating endless time to bringing the people together and promoting growth artist development.

Was an honour to host this guy and sit down for a chat. His DJ skills have come along crazy fast and you can hear that for yourself in his mix.

Another amazing announcement was made during this show. TPS is running its first live event of 2024 in the heart of London. On the 17th of February you can find myself, Blubear, Freddy Konfeddy, Jake Wxsta, Glinks & Krash Dubs down at The Castle Aldgate. A huge year so far for the Phonk genre. All around the globe promoters have begun translating the music from the depths of soundcloud to the clubs, venues and festivals. World class venue, The Black Box Denver invites Phonk overlord @ryan-celsius for his debut headline show, leading to a full US tour. A first of its kind tour for the genre with support from labels such as Purple Posse & Holymob. Titling the tour "The End Of Underground" Ryan is set to truly change the game, and with that what better time to invite him onto the show to talk about it. Join Teddy Colour for 2 hours of the world's best phonk music, featuring an extended interview and a guest mix from the legendary Ryan Celsius.

Another 4 months passed between this show and the last but worth the wait none the less. When preparing my playlist for this I really wanted to deliver something out of the box and different. Something that could appeal to both the low and lazy Phonk fan, and a UK raver. Part of the TPS project is to elevate the genre and help it to be enjoyed in clubs, venues and festivals but the music scene can be stubborn, especially in the UK. The UK is home to some of the most refined underground music and sets the standard globally for a handful of genres. To gain the respect of the underground scene would be crazy and would open up so many opportunities for the artists behind it. So with that I present 175bpm's of Phonk.

A special thank you to all my friends out in Paris, it was an unforgettable experience to meet you all. The sound system at the DJ Sacred show was quite possible the worst thing I've ever heard but we still turned up.

Had to invite @sxlvr over for a guest mix. This guys productions have always stood out to me. Blending crazy hard hitting percussion with technical and intelligent pads, synths and samples delivering a unique energy. Big ups DJ Sex!

Nearly four months since the TPS spaceship has taken flight but were finally back again with another inspiration session. Winter months have had inspiration and motivation limited but pushed through in the end. I hope everyone had a blessed Christmas and New Year, hope you managed to connected with loved ones and create some amazing memories. Being connected with so many in the scene so many of you have been sharing with me your thoughts of feeling low motivation so just know your not alone on that and as we approach spring time and see things become more colourful, that motivation will surely return.

It's going to be a great year for the genre just as 2022 was. Events took place that have never been done before and the music we seen released was truly amazing. This session contains some of my favourite tracks and artists from throughout the year so a salute to all those guys and speaking of events that brings us to this sessions guest. You may not be familiar with him, but your definitely familiar with his events and his amazing venue. Was a huge honour to speak with him, hear the story of how the venue and the events came to life and learn more about Denver, a leading city in the sound.

This show also marks a year of the Phonk Around And Find Out, the brand behind the iconic events which included DJ Yung Vamp, Soudiere, Backwhen and as of tonight, Ryan Celsius. A key character in the genre playing a world class venue, marking a year of incredible music.

Once again I appreciate you locking into the live sessions and showing your support. A few small changes to TPS for 2023. Firstly the show will now be a monthly session instead of fortnightly and dates will likely vary within each month.

Once again I have to say it but I really never anticipated being able to host such incredible guests. What an absolute honour it was to work with Backwhen on this show. It was amazing to be able to talk music and the culture we love. Not only is he one of the pioneers of this genre, he is also to thank for the existence of purple posse, a collective that made this genre what it is today. This incredibly talented and diverse producer has shaped the game and brought us some euphoric classics and ethereal gems. His signature sound now graces the clubs and festival stages of Colorado, and many more states even countries to come.

This Thursday just passed also seen the launch of my events, starting things off correct with a Hamburg legend and good friend, Sorrymane. Hi's energy and performance is unmatched and his skill and selection on the decks is amazing. Damn, really never imagined playing host to guys like these. Frances legends La Phonkerie. One of the longest running record labels and collectives representing Paris. These guys have been consistently dropping tape and doing live shows for a minute. Even took Phonk music to Rinse.fm for the first time. It was truly an honour to work with these guys one this and they brought a new range of sounds and styles to the tps spaceship. Safe to say I will be working on different projects with these guys in the future so keep yourselves locked in. I also wanna thank everyone for the response to the announcement of Teddy & Friends.
