And today I’m super pumped to be talking about one of my favorite topics with someone that I really admire and respect in this field as well.

    Talking about mold toxicity and mold illness is just something that’s very near and dear to my own heart and a journey that I did not foresee going down over the past couple years and something that really just opened my eyes to the fact that there’s over 10 million people that are wrestling with mold illness, or have been impacted and may not even actually know it. And today we’re going to be talking to Dr. Jill Crista, who is a naturopathic doctor, and best selling author, as well as nationally recognized health educator on mold related illness. And she helps people recover their health after exposure to toxic mold, in part to her own inspiration as well. Experience is always the best teacher. And Jill, thanks so much for coming on. And if you could just introduce yourself and talk a little bit about what got you doing the work you’re doing in the world today.

    Dr. Jill Crista: [00:01:41] Thank you for inviting me onto your podcast. It’s really an honor to be sharing with you.

    How I got into this world was I am in southern Wisconsin, and that is Lyme endemic region. We have a lot of cases of Lyme in Wisconsin, because of course, if you think of Wisconsin, you’re thinking of woods and deer. And I was working with these Lyme patients as the naturopathic doctor, which just like functional medicine practitioners, you work to find the cause and then treat the cause. And typically when we do that, people get better. If you have a motivated patient, it’s really them helping themselves get better. But I had this subset of Lyme patients that were just stuck. That’s sort of my Cardinal thing of Lyme disease is, if I did reasonable recommendations, they did the work, you know, even 80% of the work. And we’re doing all the reasonable things and people just weren’t responding in the way that my other patients were responding. That’s when I start to think, hmm. I wonder if this is Lyme disease? And now when that happens, I think, hmm,
