In this episode of Digging Deep we sat down with Qween Jean, a young black transgender activist who currently lives in NYC.  Our discussion with Qween focuses on the struggles of being a black trans women in America and how the trans community is currently under attack. We discussed the harsh realities that trans youth face, the protests that have unfolded this year and how we cannot have black liberation without black trans liberation. 

In this episode of Digging Deep we are joined by the lovely Sophia Williams. Sophia is a young black women from New Jersey who recently moved to Los Angeles. She like many young black women, have been crucial in this movement for liberation. We sat down with Sophia to discuss Breonna Taylor, the struggles that black women face in America, how black men treat black women and more.

This Episode on Digging Deep features Dominic DiMaria, a multi-disciplinary producer, filmmaker, and entrepreneur. He has produced content for top brands like Esquire, ESPN, Ford, Mercedes, and Condé Nast, as well as feature films and TV series.

After surviving a nearly-fatal bike accident in 2014, Dominic reinvented his life and moved to Los Angeles to focus on storytelling. In 2018, Dominic founded Soulmatter to light cultural fires by creating meaningful experiences in film, TV, digital, and experimental media.  In 2020, Dominic founded the podcast Millennial Producer to motivate, equip, and educate the next generation of producers and cultural influencers to create from a space of wellness and purpose.

On this episode of Digging Deep, Dominic and I discuss microaggressions, the nuances of racism, and changing your trajectory to become a better person in this society.

Featured on our first podcast episode, we have the phenomenal Charlayne Hunter-Gault, an American civil rights activist, journalist, and former foreign correspondent for National Public Radio and the Public Broadcasting Service. She was the first black woman to attend the University of Georgia in 1961.
