Enrich your security policies, AMA with Kaia Myers Stewart TechCloudtv

Hey everyone, thanks for tuning into another episode of TechCloudTV! For those of you that have been following us, you know that Truong and I have been working on bringing you the latest news in the Australian and International blockchain space.

The high level of dependency on technology and the internet today has resulted in new business models and revenue streams for organizations but with this comes new gaps and opportunities for cyber attackers to exploit. Cyber-attacks have become increasingly targeted and complex due to more sophisticated pieces of malware being leveraged and the increasing threat of professional cyber organizations. There are so many exciting projects happening at the moment and interestingly enough in the current COVID-19 pandemic, there has never been a better time to explore the importance of blockchain on a global scale where the need for cybersecurity is more important than ever with the increasing use of technology across remote platforms on multiple devices.

Today we are joined by the amazing Kaia Myers-Stewart, who is the co-founder and chief product officer of 5th Dimension Security (5DS), an early-stage cybersecurity company offering a real-time 'authorisation-as-a-service' enterprise blockchain solution.

Kaia has worked in a broad range of roles in emerging technology, ranging from product management for the protocol engineering team at Consensys to supporting early-stage tech founders as an entrepreneur in residence in Melbourne’s Western Suburbs. She also co-organises meetups for Women in Blockchain Melbourne (alongside Karen Cohen!) and recently became a member of the National Blockchain Roadmap’s Working Group on Blockchain for Cybersecurity.

Book Marks:

3:24 Can you share with us more about 5th Dimension Security and what led you to found this organisation?

5:13 What are the critical checkpoints?

7:08 We saw that 5th Dimension Security developed a real-time internal verification service called SiegeGuard an 'authorisation-as-a-service' enterprise blockchain solution to help organisations validate suspicious, irreversible or otherwise high-stakes actions before network actors can successfully execute them, can you tell us more about SiegeGuard and the value that some of the organisations you work with have gained from using this

9:05 What is blockchain’s role in cybersecurity and how blockchain be used to help protect this information? Are there people working on a solution already? What are the challenges that you have seen?

10:36 What are the challenges that you have seen, on the uptake in using blockchain in cybersecurity

11:51 What are some of the things that people misunderstand most about blockchain (could be as it stands in Cybersecurity or general)?
