Birth control episode

Hi, thank you so much for this episode. Following your podcast from hence onwards . You are completely right about there being certain ways in which we think about contraceptive methods as the responsibility of women or men, or the question on who in the relationship should buy condoms. I think the habits also depends on the region you are from. In Europe, in some countries you’ll find that they will generally use a double method, meaning pills and condoms, woth the man buying the condims and the woman getting the pill. The pill has been prescribed in Belgium as a preventive measure long before our girls become sexually active, which is also something that I wouldn’t mind hearing about more, given the fact that they can have side effects on our bodies and we are the ones birthing children. I haven’t come across such a large resistance against condoms within the male population,l as you seem to be having in the U.S. in other EU countries people prefer condoms, and yet they won’t be careful enough to put it on soon enough during intercourse. Hearing about side effects of the pill but also the effectivity of iud was really helpful. I wouldn’t mind for these topics to be fleshed out some more. It definitely helps to have some more background info to be able to speak about it with your partner. If no one can push their pqrtner to use invasive methods as IUD or vasectomies, and condoms aren’t effective enough, and we don’t want to use pills that can have side effects on our bodies, it leaves us to ponder how to resolve tHat question. We cannot be lazy in resolving this debate and then be having abortions that could have been avoided. I guess couples should really talk about this very seriously, especially once they have gotten The family they wanted or of they are not planning on any kids. By the way, I have come across people who are not using contraception and think they will not get pregnant, because it took them years to get pregnant with their first child, so they do not believe that it is going to happen again, even though they are only planning for one child. Not sure what they will do should they get pregnant for a second time. Thank you for having this discussion.
