The Fix Harare Podcast is back! For this episode, we have partnered with Accountability Lab Zimbabwe to talk about civil servants who are going above and beyond to serve their communities. The idea behind the Integrity Icon campaign is to create public service role models, especially for young people.  In this episode you will hear five men and women who have been selected as Integrity Icons. They tell us about what motivates them as civil servants to truly serve their communities. 

In our final episode of the year, we look back at the major issues which affected Harare residents in 2021. Our guest for this episode is long-time community organizer, urban activist, and friend of the podcast, Mike Davies. Join us as we reflect on council, local government and service delivery issues plaguing Harare residents in 2021 and discuss our hopes for the future of the Sunshine City.

We also discuss the government's gradual lifting of lockdown and whether it is safe for our kids to go back to school in the midst of a coronavirus pandemic. 

In this week's episode, we speak to Human Rights and Environmental lawyer Fiona Iliff about how we can protect Harare's wetlands. Harare cannot function without water. These land water 'storage' areas are a critical part of our water ecosystem and building on them can lead to flooding or cause them to dry up. 

In this week's episode, we look at the demolition of homes under construction in Melfort and other areas in Harare. Our guest this week is Urban Planner, Dr. Percy Toriro who helps break down Harare's acute housing shortage and the City of Harare's response to people building houses in 'unregulated' areas.
