Guest interview with Multidisciplinary Fine Artist Jason Wagner from Golden Colorado - Episode 24

It's Live!! My interview with Jason Wagner, Multidisciplinary Fine Artist from Golden, Colorado - Episode #24

"I asked: "Should the symbol of the Columbine be taken back for its beauty and be painted or is there too much stigma? He said "Paint it. She would love it."

I was thrilled and honored to interview the multi-disciplinary Fine Artist Jason Wagner for Episode #24 my Artist Talks Podcast!Jason started painting in 2018 following a catastrophic accident and upwards of seven near-death experiences and a series of serendipitous events… his story and artistic journey is - to put it mildly - unique. His paintings are stunning and I was shocked to learn he had only been painting since 2018.
Jason calls himself "a life-long musician with a paintbrush" and in this interview (which gave me goose-bumps at times!) we learn why. We also learn about the painting that started it all (there's a link below).
So hold on to your hats, listen up and listen in as Jason and I talk about:
His unique backstory and creative journey…the reason he started painting and the painting that started it all…
Not one, not two, but upwards of seven near-death experiences…and their impact…
Why Jason calls himself "a life-long musician with a paintbrush…"
The people that got Jason going and keep him motivated…
Creating something every day… Create or die…
    Honouring his mission…
His top two challenges…are not what you'd think...
His tips for creatives for starting and keeping going whether just starting out or more seasoned
Jason's take on using social media… (complete with "outtakes")
    Transformation and vision…
     And so much more!
What a blast we had! And how inspiring it was chatting with this very prolific and inspirational artist and learning about the fascinating story behind his beautiful art and his creative journey.
Thank you Jason for sharing your amazing and inspiring story with us!

Guest Interview with Digital Artist June Krisko from Haliburton, Ontario - Episode 23

Guest Interview with Digital Artist June Krisko from Haliburton, Ontario - Episode 23

Now Live!! My interview with June Krisko -Digital Artist from Haliburton, Ontario - Episode 23
"You learn to be creative in the moment…"
What a fabulous time I had chatting with Artist June Krisko! I've long been fascinated with her digital sketch art and in this episode June shared how and why she creates it.
Living off the grid isn't the first thing you might expect when you're talking with a digital artist. Especially as having reliable tech tools and Internet are quite important. In fact, you might think of going off-grid only when you wanted to take a break from your digital creative tools and online life. For June, it's the complete opposite… it's part and parcel of her life.
Following her decision to live off-grid to see a different part of Canada and still make art, June learned to live creatively in the moment and take much of what might throw most of us  in her stride. And you'll hear how she makes it work. It was great to learn how her art, which she creates using her phone and a nifty App called Autodesk Sketch Book came about and developed and how she adapted to her environment and became more and more prolific, with an upcoming exhibition in the works. June is also exploring painting on birch bark and truly bring more of nature into her art.
Listen to our fascinating conversation where June shares her thoughts on:
Being inspired by buried feelings  and allowing that inspiration to come through and in her artistic expression
Trusting her intuition and becoming an artist…
Managing depression and her mental health, and the impact on her creativity and art...
The advantages and challenges of being a digital artist living completely off the grid…
    Benefits of social media…
Her tips and words of wisdom for creatives
    And so much more!
I was  inspired by our very enlightening conversation and I think you will be too - and it may even make you appreciate some things we often take for granted in our connected, always-on world.
Find June's digital art on her website  http://www.junekrisko.com/  or follow her Instagram https://www.instagram.com/junekrisko/
    Until next time,

Guest Interview with Fibre Artist Alicia Evans from Long Island, New York - Episode 22

Guest Interview with Fibre Artist Alicia Evans from Long Island, New York - Episode 22

Now Live!! My interview with Alicia Evans - Fibre Artist from Long Island New York - Episode 22
"If it's not about a tree, it's about art, and about the art of living…"
I was so inspired to chat with Fibre Artist Alicia Evans and talk about how her art and how she pays homage to and raises awareness of trees and their impact on our world. Alicia crochets abstract trees (creates crocheted fine artwork organically branded with nature's gifts, including wool, bamboo, sea grass, wood, beads and more) and uses colour in her art to  facilitate meaningful conversations about trees and to encourage people to stop, pause and be aware of trees and how vulnerable trees have become in our world today. It made for a fascinating and enlightening conversation… and this is only one of the topics we touched upon. With six years as a professional artist, Alicia has exhibited her art since 2011 in New York  and Long Island, conducts workshops, does commissioned work and is also an Art Curator.
Alicia will leave you feeling that truly, all things are possible with art once we step outside our comfort zone, allow it in and go and be about our business as creatives.
Listen up and listen in to what Alicia has to say about:
Trees, Anxiety and when trees talk…
The power of Art to heal…
Re-examining the work we do as artists…
Raising awareness and being in the forefront of change…
Creative ways to use Social Media PR as creatives…
Living the creative life to the full and…
    The importance of Plan B
    And so much more!
Alicia's joy and enthusiasm is infectious and you will be inspired by her story, her journey and her wise tips for creatives as we navigate a world where anxiety seems to lurk around every corner. How fabulous and uplifting it was to chat with her and learn about her craft… and what a fun time we had! We'll definitely be chatting again in the near future.
Check out Alicia's work, keep up to date with news about her work and her upcoming shows, and give her a thumbs up on her Instagram https://instagram.com/aliciafiberarts
