The Power of Exposure - How Travel Can Help Your Grow‪!‬ The ThriveNX Podcast

    • Self-Improvement

Welcome to the first broadcast in Season Two! I share lessons learned from my recent trip to Provence, France! I've always thought I was a seasoned traveler, but I discovered during The Curated Retreat in the South of France that I was a careful, safe traveler! Something happened that caused a paradigm shift (an awareness) that snuck into my carry-on and journeyed back home with me. Want to know what that was? It's all in the broadcast!

Travel, done well, can help you grow in ways that staying in your own space cannot accomplish...at least not as quickly! I started thinking about how travel impacted great leaders like Malcolm X and the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. For Malcolm, it opened his eyes to see beyond his experience with racism in the United States. For Dr. King, it solidified his nonviolent philosophy as a means to bring about social change.

Travel doesn't have to be global in order to be effective. It might be listening to a podcast, hearing the views of someone who has politically opposing views, or spending time exploring a culture that is radically different from your own. Exposure is important in order to see beyond our vantage points. It considers the possibility of "more" -- a whole new world to explore! The result -- growth!
