"We are open and affirming because we believe in the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, the one that is poured out among all flesh, regardless of who they are. We are open and affirming because we believe that in communion we share the bread and the wine, for the body and blood of Jesus Christ is for you. That includes those who are LGBTQ. And we are open and affirming because we want to go, to share the good news of Jesus, like the Apostles, telling people that they are loved by Jesus, and to urge them to become small-d disciples of Jesus, empowered by the Holy Spirit."
