Episode 5: 26 Miles To Go Before I Sleep
With apologies to Robert Frost for the title, we bring you an interview with Dale Clary and Paula Cline.
Dale, 68, and his wife, Gale, 62, are planning to run the Disney Marathon in January 2020 as a fundraiser for Alexander County Partnership for Children, which supports children age birth to five years in the area. Dale, a Partnership Board member, discusses his passion for helping further the non-profit organization's mission. He also talks about recovering from a mid-race heart attack six years ago and how that changed his outlook.
Paula serves as Executive Director for Partnership and explains the importance of the first 2,000 days of a child's life for mental, social, and physical development. She also addresses how Partnership can help families with young children and how local residents can help donate to or volunteer with the non-profit organization. As Dale notes, "It takes a village to raise a child -- and fund a child." -
