"Treasure In The Word" | Anything You Want

    SCRIPTURE: 1 Kings 3:1-12
SHOW NOTES: Visit our ministry website – Discover God's Truth – where we offer additional resources to encourage and strengthen your daily Walk with God.
Let’s read 1 Kings, chapter 3, and learn more about Solomon. David has died, and Solomon is the new king of Israel. This story prepares us for Solomon's building of the temple of the Lord.
The Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night, and God said, “Ask what I shall give you.”
    1 Kings 3:5
Solomon asked the Lord to give him an understanding mind to discern between good and evil. He acknowledged he could not govern the people of Israel alone, and it pleased the Lord that Solomon had asked for wisdom.
Do I seek the Lord’s wisdom, discernment, and instruction? If I want to learn and become wise, I must first humble myself before the Lord and acknowledge my need for His wisdom.
Please join us on a 31-day Wisdom Challenge. Read one chapter in the book of Proverbs each day and write down a few wise truths you observe in the chapter.

God’s written Word, the Bible, presents Truth. It is filled with wisdom, insight, and guidance for living. Over the next few weeks, we will examine different types of Biblical Literature, and today’s lesson begins with “Appreciating Biblical Wisdom.”
The structure of Hebrew wisdom literature has two main components. The first is a proverbial maxim that states brief observations about life in general (see Proverbs 16:1-3). The second component is dialogue or monologue addressing life’s struggles (see Job 42:1-6).
We reap great benefits and rewards from studying and applying wisdom principles in our lives (see Proverbs 1:1-7). The wise person is motivated by a heart of “reverential awe” and the desire to live according to God’s commands and instructions.
    Head to Heart:
The Written Word of God is a life-giving fountain. Would you join us for a “31-Day Wisdom Challenge?” We will read a chapter each day from the book of Proverbs. Before reading, ask God to open your mind to His wise instruction. After you finish reading the chapter, pause and pray. Ask the Lord to show you what He wants you to apply to your heart and life from today’s chapter.

"Treasure In The Word" | Our Hearts Burned

    SCRIPTURE: Luke 24:28-35
SHOW NOTES: We invite you to subscribe to our new ministry website – Discover God's Truth.
Jesus joins two people walking on the road from Jerusalem to Emmaus. Beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, He shared all the things in Scripture concerning himself. They listened and had to be caught up in wonder and amazement as this stranger shared from the Holy Scriptures.
They urged Him strongly, saying, “Stay with us, for it is toward evening, and the day is now far spent. ” So, he went in to stay with them. When he was at the table with them, he took the bread and blessed and broke it and gave it to them. And their eyes were opened, and they recognized him. And he vanished from their sight. They said to each other, “Did not our hearts burn within us while he talked to us on the road, while he opened the Scriptures to us?” - Luke 24:28-32
Jesus wants to walk with you, sit with you, and break bread with you. He wants to reveal the true affections of your heart. A relationship with Jesus is a day-in, day-out relationship in every situation of your life!

"Treasure In The Word" | On The Road

    SCRIPTURE: Luke 24:13-27
SHOW NOTES: We invite you to subscribe to our new ministry website – Discover God's Truth.
Today, we begin a new series of lessons – Treasure in the Word. What do we treasure? How do we define the word, treasure?
The Psalmist reminds us, “The law of the Lord is perfect … more to be desired than gold, even much fine gold … sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb” (Ps. 19:7-10). The Apostle Paul writes these words, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom” (Col. 3:16).
This lesson begins with two people walking together from Jerusalem to the town of Emmaus, and then Jesus joins them. He asks, “What are you talking about?” This question surprises Cleopas, and he responds, “Are you the only visitor to Jerusalem who does not know the things that have happened there in these days?”
They were unable to recognize Jesus. Then Jesus speaks, “Beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, He interpreted to them all the Scriptures concerning Himself.” This is the best Bible study ever.

"Hope & Encouragement" | Dominion Forever!

    SCRIPTURE: 1 Peter 5:7-14
SHOW NOTES: We invite you to subscribe to our ministry website – Discover God's Truth.
Peter wrote this letter to believers, both Jews and Gentiles, throughout the known world to exhort and declare the true grace of God. He encourages everyone to stand firm in it. Peter also warns readers to “Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.”
Peter had first-hand experience with the devil (see Luke 22:31-34). Resist him and stand firm in your faith. All believers worldwide will suffer. We know that after suffering, trials, heartache, and pain, God will accomplish His purpose (His will) in each of our lives. We can trust Him. He works to strengthen, to guide, and to grow the faith of His chosen ones.
This epistle opens and closes with a prayer for peace (1:2 and 5:14). Our world needs peace. Battles and strife seem to exist on all fronts – cities and countries. Peter closes his letter with these comforting words, “Peace to all of you who are in Christ.”

"Hope & Encouragement" | Shepherd The Flock

    SCRIPTURE: 1 Peter 5:1-6 (ESV)
SHOW NOTES: We’d love for you to subscribe to our ministry website – Discover God's Truth.
First Peter is a letter written to “God’s elect,” scattered in “Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia.” In his final chapter, Peter instructs the elders who are called to “shepherd the flock of God.” The pastoral leaders are to feed, lead, guide, guard, and provide for the believers in their local flock.
Each of these elders serves the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. When Jesus returns, Peter wants his fellow elders to be found faithful. He urges leaders to cultivate a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and then encourage, lead, and guide the flock in their walks with God.
This week's song, Savior Like A Shepherd Lead Us, is sung by a musical group from Indonesia. The day is coming when we will worship the Lord with people from every tribe, tongue, and nation. We hope you will enjoy listening to the hymn.
