The top 3 questions you need to ask before you start a supplement.

The top 3 questions you need to ask before you start a supplement.

Are supplements worth it?  They might not be.
In this episode I walk you through the 3 questions you need to ask yourself before you start taking supplements. It's the same questions I ask myself before I prescribe, and it leads to better patient care and better health outcomes.
Supplements should satisfy a few "criteria" before you buy and this solo episode will help you feel more confident before you throw something in your shopping cart.

My morning routine. How I’ve cultivated a routine to be successful.

My morning routine. How I’ve cultivated a routine to be successful.

Is your morning routine part of your secret sauce or are you a roll-out-of-bed-and-run kind of person? My morning routine has been an important part of my life for years and I’ve spent a lot of time testing various strategies to make the most of my day. In this episode I give you some ideas of how to create your own routine by talking about: Coffee and caffeine and whether it’s helping you or not (spoiler: it’s helping me!) Creating calm by “deciding” how you want your day to go.  How I delegate tasks and projects. How my partner and I troubleshoot what our pain points are for the day.  Not waking up with an alarm, and how this affects me.  The importance of my morning of coffee (worth talking about twice!) The overall theme is that my morning is a CHOICE and in this episode I want you to get inspired to choose your morning and your day. It’s a practical episode (not just a conversation about mindset) and I tell you exactly what my routine looks like.

Your Roots are Showing. How to have “me-time” in a family of 8 with Julie Cole, entrepreneur and parenting expert.

I opened this episode asking Julie Cole, a Mother of 6 and co-founder of Mabel’s Labels a simple question:  “How the f*#k do you do it?”
We know that’s the burning question mom’s have when they see a successful mom of 6 running a huge business who shows up anywhere with her shirt on right-side-in and her hair done.
In this candid episode Julie and I cover a lot of ground on the topic of family-infrastructure, understanding what “me time” looks like to you, and how to live the life you want with your family.
Julie shares her practical family-organization tips but also gives us a huge sense of relief that “our kids are going to be alright.”
Julie is a blogger and a regular on TV talking about parenting. You can find her on Instagram @cole.julie or on her blog at mabelslabels.com/juliecole

How my miscarriages changed my life and my career.

Today is my son’s birthday. He’s 12. My journey to becoming a fierce advocate for women’s health began 14 years ago when I had 3 miscarriages in a row. The themes we discuss in this episode matter even if you aren't trying to fall pregnant.
I share my own mental health journey through miscarrriage. I share my own challenges advocating for my own health. I share what it took (mentally and physically) to stay pregnant.  My story has a happy ending and I want to share with you to help you feel empowered and supported to take charge of your own health and fertility journey.

Is your diet causing your headaches? How to tell and what to do next.

Is your diet causing your headaches? How to tell and what to do next.

My introduction to Naturopathic Medicine was from my need to support my migraines. I would have debilitating headaches more often than was manageable and it significantly impacted my life as a person in my teens and early twenties. I missed social events, work, and school all the time.
In this episode, I share what we currently know about diets and headaches and you can start to tie strings between your headaches and what you eat. We cover the major myths about headaches and food and give practical advice for how to think differently about your nutrition and your health.
If you’ve ever wondered if your nutrition is impacting your headaches. This summary is an amazing resource. Remember to rate the podcast when you’re done listening!
