Today’s episode is one of the deepest and most honest so far.
I had the pleasure to talk with Marta Wanderlust, about her own Hero’s Journey in life.
She’s not only survived childhood abuse but also overcame a year-long cocaine addiction, escaping a posh London lifestyle of endless partying, drugs and casual sex to numb herself from the pain of her past.
She also worked for several years in one of the leading ayahuasca retreat centres in the Amazon, meaning she now has over 200 ayahuasca ceremonies’ worth of incredible lessons and healing miracles that she was willing to share with me.
I started the Journeys podcast to make stories like hers public, to give people courage, hope and confidence that any dark hour in one's life can be overcome.
Marta's story invites us on a pilgrimage from the head to the body, and ultimately to the heart to remember who we really are. Only then can we learn to trust ourselves again and achieve greater well-being in life.
We also share practical tips and tools that serve her daily to be her authentic self and live a life according to her own needs. Other topics we discuss are reasons and solutions for addictive behaviours, co-dependencies in relationships, and why our nervous systems make it so hard for us to break out of the conditioned emotional dependency cycles - we have (mostly unconsciously) been reliving daily since our childhood.
Enjoy this episode and if you like the podcast, I invite you to share it with your friends and people that might need to hear words of encouragement in these uncertain times we live in.
