The podcast is mostly in interview format show. For artists, graphic designers, musicians, photographers, film and video professionals, writers, creators and business leaders.
I'm Dany Oakes, I've been a musician and artist for most of my life. I am working to develop an new collaborative community
to help musicians and artists create promotional videos, audio, photo, visual artists.
The vision is that this will create more work for local artists and musicians, the website will likely grow to include stock photography, stock video, stock audio. With providing more work to local artists and musicians it is my hope that we can have the resources and time to collaborate on compelling projects, have the resources to get health care, pay our bills on time, take vacations, travel, and have enough to get the necessary equipment and people together to do our best work. Most of the early podcasts recorded are with musicians, one with a photographer, multi-faceted artist, and one with an author. The plan is to release one a week starting mid-April 2019. I'm grateful for the opportunity to help artists tell their stories, and share their experiences. Maybe the rest of us can learn to see a little more clearly and get to what is truly important!

Brandon is the real deal! I mean, sure... he's played with Metallica, auditioned for Marty Friedman in Japan, who subsequently mentored him, and he plays in a dozen or so bands currently at the pro level... but can he play guitar? Yes! But he's more than a guitar player, his songwriting and vocals are top notch and he is a fellow human inhabiting this planet with the rest of us. He hasn't lost sight of what's important in life as many do, he speaks of ethics, parenting and work ethic! I'm honored to call him a friend of many years and I'm excited to share this interview with fellow musicians and people who are trying to make it! Chris started PDS, Property Damage Solutions about 7 years ago with a great deal of experience in drafting, project management, restoration and a degree in architecture from Portland State University. He is a family man with a wife and 3 children. He is one of the most enthusiastic music listeners I have ever met, and the biggest Smashing Pumpkins fan that I know! Other than the squeaky chair we had a great conversation, and it's easy to see why there are so many parallels between arts and business!

Art Media NW Episode 20 with Ron Hurst (The Drummer from Steppenwolf) and Maddie Hurst (Singer for Audio Spectrum)
Art Media NW is proud to present this interview with Ron and Maddie Hurst! Ron has played with Steppenwolf since 1984. He grew up playing drums in school concert bands and studied with legendary teacher Joe Sefcik who taught famous Jazz drummer Joe Morello. He has played with Chuck Berry, John Kay, Ort, and done performances with The Guess Who, Three Dog Night, the Doobie Brothers and the Charlie Daniels Volunteer Jam Band.
Maddie, has been a musician all her life, and currently sings with the band Audio Spectrum. She started in musical theater when she was 4 years old, she played with an all girl band named Why Joe-Y for a couple years. She has opened for Jack Russell's Great White and sung duets with Micky Dolenz from the Monkees. She plays multiple instruments including bass, drums guitar and keyboard.
