Avsnitt 12: Mia Habib Tal till nationen – en antinationalistisk podcast från konstgruppen Ful

    • Darstellende Kunst

Meet the dancer, performer and choreographer Mia Habib who is based in Oslo, Norway. Mia Habib works at the intersection of performance, exhibitions, publications, lectures, teaching, mentoring and curating. Her work holds a culture critical perspective on body, identity, society and dance. During 2017 – 2023 Mia Habib and many other artists within the performing arts field in Norway got attacked by an anonymous right-wing populist Facebook page, which led to a severe situation where artists were exposed to hate speech, bullying and racism. When parts of the media supported the racist and populist rhetoric that was used on this page, Mia decided in 2019 to report a news site to the police for hate speech.
Conversation partner: Nasim Aghili
Producer: Malin Holgersson
Theme: Hampus Norén and Sara Parkman
This episode was recorded live at Skissernas Museum in Lund on April 28, 2023, as a part of LICA#3 (Lund International Choreographic Assembly) to which Mia Habib was invited to make a pilot study of her upcoming piece Samkome*.
