Brittney Gilliam - Aurora Police
Brittney Gilliam's story has captured the nation--She was going to a nail salon one Sunday with her 6-year-old daughter, 12-year-old sister and 14- and 17-year-old nieces, when Aurora police drew their weapons on them, handcuffed them, and made them lay face down on the asphalt of the parking lot. The Aurora police had previously been under scrutiny for the death of Elijah McClain, an unarmed Black man who died days after he was subdued by three policemen and injected with a powerful sedative. Brittany recounts her story in this powerful episode with our Bear The Truth host Diana Valverde and Sabaea Carrington Wynter.
