Darth Vader's search for the culprits behind an assassination attempt on the Emperor leads to a shattered Star Destroyer floating lifeless above a mysterious moon. On the ground, he finds no survivors—instead ancient ruins, and frightening inhabitants. All the while, a hunter follows, waiting for the moment to strike!

In the ruins of an ancient moon, Darth Vader encounters an evil people with a dark prophecy and a powerful weapon. They are a threat to the Empire and Vader will force them to serve—or crush them all! Meanwhile, the assassin hunting Vader still lurks...

Having stalked Darth Vader, the assassin is now ready to strike . . . It seems Vader, distracted by threats to the Emperor, could be taken. But the assassin has made one mistake—believing that he has a chance against the most-feared man in the galaxy!

Eight assassins hired to murder Darth Vader–eight assassins dead. Now the man who enlisted them seeks a ninth assassin. The price? A cost higher than all the credits in his bottomless coffers. But when it comes to avenging his son, no sacrifice is too great to acquire the man who can kill the Dark Lord of the Sith. 

Elsewhere, an unknown enemy obliterates a Star Destroyer, and an attempt is made on the life of the Emperor. A new enemy has made itself known in the galaxy, and Darth Vader is going to find it and crush it. But beware, warns the Emperor, this new adversary appears to wield a sorcery very old and very dark.

Today I decided to do a deep dive into the notorious sith lord Darth Krayt, once known as A'Sharad Hett, son of the famed Jedi Knight Sharad Hett. He began his training as a Padawan after his father was slain by Aurra Sing under Master Plo Koon and later the Dark Woman, rising to the rank of Jedi Knight. As order 66 fell upon the galaxy, A'Sharad could feel that no one was there, believing himself to be the only Jedi left. He goes back to the Tusken tribes and conceals his identity as a Jedi and leads them into great victories. It was not long until Obi-Wan Kenobi, his former friend and brother in the force, heard of this and came to confront him, and they engage in a mighty duel...
