For over 25 years Cinematic Sound Radio has been playing the very best music from film, TV and video games. We feature music from the golden age classic scores of the 30, 40 and 50s, the retro silver age scores from the 60s and 70s, all the way through to the 80s, 90s and the modern-day classics of the 21st century.

When tuning in you'll hear interviews with composers, orchestrators, musicians, authors, soundtrack experts and industry insiders. We also do deeper dives into some of the best scores ever composed. And, of course, you'll hear LOTS of great music.

We feature 10 unique shows exploring one of the most underappreciated art forms by people who are passionate about the art form. We hope you enjoy the programming as much as we do producing them.

Talking Soundtracks: Interview with Dynamic Music Partners

BABYLON 5: THE ROAD HOME, which features Emmy-winning composers Lolita Ritmanis, Kristopher Carter, and Michael McCuistion of DYNAMIC MUSIC PARTNERS, has been nominated for Best Music – TV/Media at the 2024 ANNIE AWARDS. Ritmanis, Carter, and McCuistion are the first composers to write music for the series since the original composer, Christopher Franke.

The score intricately weaves driving rhythms and powerful motifs that resonate with the essence of the sci-fi narrative. Ritmanis, Carter, and McCuistion combine traditional orchestral elements with contemporary sounds to create the futuristic and otherworldly atmosphere of the BABYLON 5 franchise. From thrilling action sequences to poignant character moments, the score serves as a vital storyteller, enhancing every scene..

Ritmanis, Carter, and McCuistion have collectively earned a total of twenty-eight EMMY AWARD nominations and now seven ANNIE AWARD nominations as composers for series such as MARVEL’S AVENGERS ASSEMBLE, BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD, JUSTICE LEAGUE, TEEN TITANS, BATMAN BEYOND, THE ZETA PROJECT and THE NEW BATMAN SUPERMAN ADVENTURES.

For TALKING SOUNDTRACKS in February 2024, Jason Drury had the pleasure of speaking with Lolita, Michael, and Kristopher via Zoom at their respective studios in California. During the conversation, we discussed BABYLON 5: THE ROAD HOME, how DYNAMIC MUSIC PARTNERS formed, their respective projects, and where it all began, BATMAN THE ANIMATED SERIES, which was bought together by their mentor, the late great Shirley Walker.

Throughout the show, Jason will play excerpts of their excellent music, the majority of which was picked by the composers themselves.

The Flagship Show: A Chat With Patreon Member Steve Karpicz

The Flagship Show: A Chat With Patreon Member Steve Karpicz

Today we present part one of a brand new chat between host Erik Woods and Patreon member Steve Kapicz on THE FLAGSHIP SHOW on the CINEMATIC SOUND RADIO PODCAST.

Steve is one of three CINEMATIC SOUND RADIO PODCAST patrons who signed up for the exclusive top COMPOSER TIER at the CINEMATIC SOUND RADIO PODCAST Patreon. He took advantage of the tier's exclusive perk to co-host a program with Erik Woods and play whatever music he wanted. As with Joe Wiles' episodes, and William Welch's episodes, Steve and Erik talked for a considerable time, so the show has been split into two parts.

During this episode, William and Erik talk about choral scores, among other things. During the show, you will hear selections from FIRST KNIGHT (Goldsmith), THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER (Poledouris), THE MATRIX REVOLUTIONS (Davis), and EVIL DEAD (Banos).

I hope you enjoy the show.

The Archive with Jason Drury: A Tribute To Mike Ross-Trevor

The Archive with Jason Drury: A Tribute To Mike Ross-Trevor

On Tuesday, January 2, 2024, the film music community lost one of its greatest recording engineers, Mike Ross-Trevor. His collaborations with composers such as Jerry Goldsmith and Bruce Broughton have become legendary in the film music world.

Jason Drury had the pleasure of speaking with Mike in February 2018 for the CINEMATIC SOUND RADIO PODCAST. The two show shows can be heard at cinematicsound.net

It was with great sadness that Jason learned of Mike's passing since he had many happy recollections of their interview and Mike has remained a close friend.

So, Jason decided to produce a new program by utilizing remastered interview clips from 2018 and by playing some of the fantastic music that Mike was associated with. To give the program a distinct and intimate feel, Mike Ross-Trevor will be the only voice heard throughout, narrating his own recording career and sharing a few memories of the amazing sessions he worked on.

    Enjoy!

The Buddymeister ,

The best podcast for lovers of film, tv and video game music!

I've discovered Eric Woods' Cinematic Sound Radio podcast only about 2 years ago, but loved it ever since. The music selections are great and his knowledge about music, sound, orchestrations, etc. is very impressive.

The podcast even helped me to get through different times and encouraged to do my own podcast about film music. My favourite episode will probably always be Ep. 34. the "Christmas Special of 2016". Love this one!

Keep up the great work! Cinematic Sound Radio is the uncrowned king of music podcasts!

Best regards from Vienna!
