In "Hardcore History" journalist and broadcaster Dan Carlin takes his "Martian", unorthodox way of thinking and applies it to the past. Was Alexander the Great as bad a person as Adolf Hitler? What would Apaches with modern weapons be like? Will our modern civilization ever fall like civilizations from past eras? This isn't academic history (and Carlin isn't a historian) but the podcast's unique blend of high drama, masterful narration and Twilight Zone-style twists has entertained millions of listeners.

Extraordinary

A podcast made with a lot of effort, skill, professionalism and love.
Dan takes you to the more hardcore parts of history with his own, unapologetic and compelling view of the human condition.

It is just an amazing show concentrating on stuff your average history teacher will not tell you...

Keep up the good work, Dan!!

History come to life

As he says himself, he is addicted to context, but in my eyes that is exactly what makes this Podcast so great. To understand in detail why and how things happen is amazing. I have yet to hear a better storyteller who captures the human element of a story quite as he does, and with great sources to back it up. It really makes history come to life.
