Let it Fly Out the Window ft. Mario Diaz
We are catching up with actor and nightlife impresario Mario Diaz. Let's face it. Us queens could not do drag without our boys! This (former) roller rat was raised by a pack of feral drag queens and he knows how to treat a wig. You may know him as the creator and casting daddy of the East Village’s The Cock bar, or for running all the best boy parties in New York and LA. He brought back the back room, he’s bringing back sleaze, and brought us the sweetness! Join us on this 22nd episode of Drag Time with Heklina!
House of Cho ft. Margaret Cho
Margaret Cho joins us to tell us about hosting San Francisco’s Folsom Street Fair; this year it is going world-wide and virtual so you can join in from home.
It turns out she’s a total bottom.
We hear about Margaret’s lo-fi, low-key celebrity gossipy podcast "The Margaret Cho" on the EARIOS network. She gives us her take on social media as a less than desirable medium for comedy and serves up some hope by announcing that she has live shows scheduled for next year for "Fresh Off the Boat" touring world-wide.
Heklina asks Margaret about her work with comedienne Gerri Lawlor on the Be Robin movement in commemoration of Robin Williams. They remember Gerri and we find out a little about Margaret’s forthcoming book "The Mayor of Haight Street" which you can find via Chronicle Books later this year.
Lady Bunny alert! Or warning. Heklina and Margaret talk about some of their biggest influences including Phyllis Diller, Joan Rivers, Richard Pryor, and Don Rickles, and Lady Bunny (I didn’t say they were good influences).
Plus what happened to all the Silver Lake Gays?
P.S. as in they all went to Palm Springs and that’s where I’m headed, too. Tune in to hear all about it.

Freak Filter ft. Julie Brown
This episode we are joined by one of my favorites: comedienne and actress Julie Brown. Comedy in the age of cancel culture is something that we discuss a lot on Drag Time with Heklina and we get a real sweetheart’s take on political correctness in comedy. She tells us about meeting Michael Jackson while working on the dance number for her Madonna spoof entitled “Vague,” and then we reminiscence about her work on the set of Clueless (she was the lesbian gym teacher.) We play a game of “Who’s a bitch?” Listen in to find out if Zsa Zsa Gabor is one - and more! Julie Brown even tells us all about her warm spot for San Francisco!
Trickle Down Gregonomics ft. Greg Sherrell
It's a Full On Greg alert for all of the Sideshow fans. Heklina is joined by Greg Sherrell and we catch up on some old Sideshow drama. Listen in and help us decide who is inciting it more, Greg or Heklina. P.S. it is Heklina. Find out what's been going on with Greg since he began recording Big Bay Mornings from home. Greg gives us a personal review of Heklina's "Meals on Heels" delivery/performance benefitting SF Oasis. Then he has the audacity to confess to not tipping a bitch. Listen and learn about Trickle Down Gregonomics on this very special episode of Drag Time.
If You Don’t Know Sherry Jackie CoCo and Varla... ft Sherry Vine
You don't know drag! Hear the backstory on how Heklina came to know and love our eighteenth very special guest, the total sweetheart Ms. Sherry Vine. She tells us all about winning over crowds on tour opening for Bianca Del Rio and making fans around the world. We theorize about the last time it was that Jackie Beat spent a dollar on a costume. Sherry then explains why she moved from New York to Southern California and we find out a little bit about how life has changed since the end of the last of her last live shows in Puerto Vallarta. She tells us all about I love Lucy, Golden Girls, and 9 to 5 parodies, quarantine parody music videos, and sherryvine.com online shows. We run through a lightning round of little ditties Marc dug up online about Sherry Vine; she tells us about some drama llama from the making Wigstock I & II, tells us all about some of her favorite projects from the past, and we get a few little hints about what’s coming. Listen in to find out what’s been happening with one of our (top 18) favorites, Ms Sherry Vine!
It Gets Bigger ft. Ana Matronic
This week our special guest is Ana Matronic! She tells us all about how she made her way from performing drag shows in SF+NY to joining Scissor Sisters, going on tour, and playing gigs all over the world. We hear about some of Ana's surreal celeb encounters with Faye Dunaway and Bono... then she gives us one of the very best Jane Fonda impressions we've ever heard. Listen in and find out the statistical likelihood of Ana rebooting with the Scissor Sisters. She tells us all about her BB2 radio show called Dance Devotion featuring 90-00's acid house, Chicago house, techno house, where the motto is "We'll dance to anything!" You can listen to it on airs every Sat nite/Sun morning on bbc.co.uk - we love Ana Matronic!
