Influence is one thing.....celebrity influence is another! But in this day and age of "show me what you got!", selfie mania and bossism, everyone has the ability to become a local celebrity in their own right with little to no substance for any number of unimportant reasons. So is society mirroring its celebrity culture in more than one way? Does local influence trump celebrity influence?

I wanted to so something special for you guys so I came up with The Intellectual Series, where I will be breaking down speeches, debates, and discussions from a few of my favorite Black leaders in an effort to highlight their mindset, oratory skills and shear genius at wielding thought as their weapons of choice during some of the scariest times in our country. I'll also contrast they're time against our reality to see what has changed, what hasn't and whether we're the better for it.
