    Talked with Erick Gill, Communications Director. St. Lucie County, FLorida. They have a wide variety of programs for the residents in St. Lucie. They are preparing for the upcoming 2020 Census by asking folks to create committees to help with the count. Job info is available at 2020Census.gov.
    The Library system has books, story time, crafts, creative spaces, all kinds of book clubs as well as digital service such as Fregal that are free for listeners to use. The county purchased land and now has programs via slchikes.org including paddle board and kayak adventures. The county is also doing a Fire Fest in February.     Talked with Charlene Farrington, Exec Dir., Spady Cultural Heritage Museum. Located in Delray Beach, FL they are located in the former home of Solomon D. Spady. The museum offers a wide variety of programs to the community from exhibits, to historical bus tours, Saturday kimetic yoga, youth programs and events. They currently have a graphic novel exhibition Eroica feature heroes of color running. This year listeners can participate in the book club where they'll dissucss the novel and then the graphic novel and can take a field trip to a comic book shop, and learn some of the techniques for writing/designing/coloring a comic. They also have their annual MLK Jr brunch coming up on Monday January 20th.     Talked with Stephanie Surrena, PR Specialist, Office of Public Engagement and Anthony Austin, Volunteer Coordinator, Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department. They have a lot of fun things happening in January to help listeners meet some of those New Year's resolutions. There are 5 different 5k Walk/Run events for those who want to be more fit. They have a couple historical reenactment events so we can learn from history. More opportunities for learning and giving back can be found by becoming a volunteer. Anthony coordinates the volunteers and they are looking for folks interested in history to become docents for the Dubois House.     Talked with Jennifer McCorvey, Casey Cares Foundation and Kristina Holt, South Florida Science Center and Aquarium. Casey Cares provides upbeat, positive programming for critically ill children and their families. Events like popcorn/movie/pj night, football games, bowling, trips to the science center, etc. They are teaming up with the SF Science Center for Noon Year's Eve at 11am on 12/31/19. Kids and grown-ups are encouraged to come out in their pj's and bring a new pair of pj's size 18 months to 18 years to donate to Casey Cares (gift cards are also welcome such as Netflix, Redbox, Visa). The science center has their Hall of Heroes exhibition running and offers lots of programs to keep the kids engaged and learning during the holiday breaks.     Talked with Elizabeth Dashiell, PR Mounts Botanical Garden of Palm Beach County. Mounts has just opened their 2nd Annual Garden of Lights event. The gardens are beautifully decorated with Holiday lights. And while listeners are there, they can still check out the Stick works exhibition from earlier in the year. The Garden of Lights runs from December 13-15, 19-23, and 26-29, 2019
    6-8:30 pm (last entry at 8 pm; no rain dates) $8 for Mounts members; $12.50 for nonmembers; $5 for children ages 5-12. Your ticket is good for ANY ONE DAY of the 12 days (tickets available at the gate or online). Then after the Garden of Lights event, Mounts will be starting their next exhibition, Ribbit the Exhibit on Jan 11th.
