In this episode, I recall a remarkable conversation with a woman in her 90's, who shared a cherished and poignant memory of her time in Poland after WWII. Here, I describe the pivotal moment when I realized that I had to write my memoir, In Duet with God, which would ultimately be honored with an Illumination Book Award. The story is about a very special woman named, "Flora," a person who touches the lives of all whom she meets. In Duet with God is the tale of Flora's love and the awakening of the heart this remarkable person inspired. Piano music: "Il Est Ne Le Divin Infant," a French carol dedicated to the baby Jesus; "O Salutaris Hostia," a timeless hymn; and "Kyrie" from The Missa Criolla, one of the most beloved pieces of sacred music, arranged and performed by Jessica Roemischer.

Here, I reveal which I love to play the piano, always have. But more than that, what I've realized in contemplating my love of music, is that the seeds of our destinies are often planted at the very beginning. I'll read a chapter from my award-winning memoir, In Duet with God, and accompany the story with piano music selections.
