A must for all women.
Solid Podcast, until it’s not
”Something was wrong“ is very hit or miss. When it’s good, it’s great, giving abuse victims an important platform to share their story. Real people’s stories, and them telling them, in their own way. The pacing is not always great, but usually the filler episodes are few in number. The production quality has also improved over the last two years. When it’s bad, it gives a negligent parent, who was complicit in the murder of her child the spotlight for an entire season and letting her portray her victim role to the fullest. There have been a few episodes and an odd season here or there that were poorly researched, unfairly represented or had bad editing. Others featured stories that were less compelling than others. Season 17 however is an irresponsible trainwreck that gives an abuser a pedestal. It is abhorrent how the caretaker featured in season 17 is given complete freedom to frame the murder of her child in any way she pleases. I’m really hoping that in the future the featured cases for the show will be vetted better, because in season 17, the podcast really does it’s best to manipulate the listener.
