Interesting despite all the wokeness

Informative, well-produced podcast with comprehensive discussions about geek/popular culture. Albeit sometimes cringe-inducingly woke, politically correct and full of virtue signalling, it‘s worth a listen.

Highly recommended exemplary Geek Podcast

The Incomparable is such a good geek podcast with a varied range of subject matters. It is not only well produced but most of all funny, educational, interesting. Every episode leaves you with a warm and fuzzy feeling inside and a positive outlook on life.

The “Incomparables” are host Jason Snell and a sympathetic, changing cast of Dan Moren, Erika Ensign, Serenity Caldwell, John Siracusa and many others.

There is the book club which never fails to make me fall in love with a book, and there is the subset of the baffling apocalyptic book club. There are the “draft” episodes where the team picks their favorite computer, robot or other weird stuff. There is the comic book club, where the Incomparables dissect and recommend Marvel, DC and independent titles. My current favorite is “Rocket Surgery” a Super-Geek Gameshow-like series.

But some of the best episodes don’t fit the mold. The year-ending episodes are an exercise in geekery and paradoxes that are capable of putting your brain through the proverbial blender. The epic reviews of the Star Wars movies (the great ones and the bad ones including the Holiday special ) are worth listening to multiple times. As a “Doctor Who” fan the reviews of the christmas specials are among my favorite episodes.

My recommendation: Listen to the current episode and perhaps one other one from the past. If you share delight for science fiction, computers, movies, comic books and humor, then you will most probably get hooked. Then I envy you for discovering one of the best podcasts out there completely freshly. You are in for quite a ride!
