Abwechslungsreicher als bei 5by5
Als Gruber die Talk Show noch mit Dan Benjamin gemacht hat, habe ich irgendwann nicht mehr zugehört. Gruber wirkte gelangweilt und Dan wirkte oft wie der Stichwortgeber für einen Interviewgast, der lieber mit einem Martini an einer Bar sitzen würde, als sich zu unterhalten.
Das neue Format gefällt mir deutlich besser. Gruber beweist, dass er durchaus das Zeug hat, um der Steuermann zu sein - wenn man ihn denn lässt. Er wirkt, als habe er seine Beta-Blocker abgesetzt. Er ist interessiert, engagiert, motiviert und er schlürft auch nicht mehr nebenher Kaffee oder zieht seine Nase hoch, wie das noch bei 5by5 der Fall war. Ich frage mich, ob er das nur gemacht hat, um Dan zu ärgern...
Das größte Plus des neuen Formats ist aber, dass Gruber sich unterschiedliche Gäste einlädt. Podcasts, die immer nur aus den selben Nasen bestehen, werden irgendwie schnell langweilig, zumindest wenn bei dem Team die Chemie nicht optimal ist (wie bei Gruber und Dan). In jedem Fall ist das neue Format deutlich abwechslungsreicher und man lernt auch mal neue Leute kennen bzw. hört welche reden, die man bislang nur namentlich kannte. Definitiv eine Empfehlung.
Not an interviewer
The episode with the wonderful Jason Kottke was TERRIBLE. Hardly a question that Jason got to answer, such a waste of time with Dan only talking about himself. You are not an interviewer, Sir, and Jason was VERY patient with you, I wasn’t. Highlight: „let me tell you how I felt about your sabbatical“.
Great analysis and commentary
Always looking forward to The Talkshow! I listen to a bunch of Apple related podcasts and this one has the most insightful analysis most of the time. Sometimes there's a lot of baseball talk but there's a skip button for that ;)
