    Our only regret of 2022

    Our only regret of 2022

    EPISODE DESCRIPTION:

The year 2022 got away from us Modern Dames! A lot happened: Mo’s play Cora Lynn got selected for the Michigan Community Theatre Association 2022 Playwright Award and Pat launched The Elders Project. We’ll talk more about those events in a different episode. We really don’t do regret (OK, that might be a slight exaggeration, but let’s go with it) but we do have one regret for 2022: we never got this interview with the amazing and talented Paige Jennifer Barr out to you. It’s so good we broke it up into two episodes so here’s part one of Paige - actor, comedian, casting director and survivor. An amazing woman that you will all love as we do. Enjoy and keep your eyes out for our next episode which will air part two of her interview.

    We Made It Back!!

    We Made It Back!!

We’re back! What can we say? Lots of life got in the way: work, community, family and Covid. But a modern dame may get pushed back but watch out- ‘cause she’ll just charge forward!

In this very special all-gabfest episode, Pat and Mo complain about diy expectations and how they affect the modern woman. Pat's independence has annoyed her male friends; Mo cannot change her windshield wipers despite watching four how-to videos on Youtube. Naturally, they veer into other random topics, like the labor shortage; the book and movie "Passing," (would Pat do it, if she lived in a different time?)and how they make fun of their respective sisters. ("Because nobody fights like sisters."). Get back in the 2 Modern Dames groove with this gabfest extraordinaire, and get ready for the regular podcast issues up ahead. We are back!

    That’s What Friends Are For

    That’s What Friends Are For

In this episode, Pat and Mo's Gabfest covers female friendships and male-female friendships (are they really possible?). In Marjorie Lowers the Boom, Marjorie tackles a question from a listener about dealing with religious differences within a family. We finish our convo with the amazing Eleanore Wells, an expat who moved to Australia to take a new job at the age of 60. Eleanor, who is now 65, talks about love, careers and taking risks - at any age.

A quick note from Pat: My apologies to everyone for how long it’s been between episodes. Among other things in life, COVID-19 hit my household. By some miracle, I was not affected and did not get the virus testing negative, while everybody around me tested positive. But it still took its toll. Thanks for your support!
