Election Activism - Election Contests
Richard presents the nature of election contests and how this remedy applies to local ballot measures in California.
The goals is use the courts to force the county registrars to follow the law with respect to the language that is printed on the ballot. An election contest puts teeth into the law. When the voters are denied honest ballots, setting aside the election is the way to penalize the proponents, and in the process, the county registrar. Once elections are set aside, the school bonds cartel and others will realize that using honest ballots, folllowing the law, is the only way to make an election impervious to an election contest.
