    10. A few minutes with.... Dave Brett

    10. A few minutes with.... Dave Brett

Dave Brett, a man who has changed thousands of lives here in North Vancouver and beyond.

Dave is the owner and Head Coach of Griffins Boxing Club, the largest boxing gym in Canada BC.
Now an interesting one as Dave has been my head coach for the last 3 and a half years so I have seen first hand the culture and the family he has built here at Griffins boxing club and I'm extremely proud to be a part of it.

After taking on a lease of an old recreational centre at the age of 25, with only 500 dollars in his pocket and to see how far he has come and what he has today to show for all the hard work he has put in is phenomenal. Dave now now has hundreds of people coming through his doors every single day of all ages raging from 5-80 years of age, quite spectacular!

On the board of Boxing BC, owner of a gym, father and a family man. Dave is continually changing lives daily, including mine!

An amazing and inspirational journey thank you so much for taking the time to sit down with me and share your story.
    Thanks for everything Dave!

    9. A few minutes with... Dima Sumchenko

    9. A few minutes with... Dima Sumchenko

Today we welcome Dima Sumchenko on to the podcast!

2020 Provincial heavyweight champion of BC, yet Dima is much more than that. After training intensely and competing at a good level for dancing as a kid, Dima then found his way into boxing and from the age of 12 started to compete in the sweet science.

Dima speaks of some of his memories growing up in the boxing community and relives some of his greatest moments with me.

Now taking an active break to concentrate on some other areas of his life it was great to sit back down with my old teammate to catch up and to find out what's next for him on his journey.

A very skillful, talented young man I'm sure Dima has what it takes to achieve anything he sets his mind to and we wish him all the best in whatever is next to come!

    8. A few minutes with... Michael Viloria Part II

    8. A few minutes with... Michael Viloria Part II

Hello everyone and welcome to Part II of my sit down with Michael Viloria, where we sit down and break down mental health for what it is and how to find ways through and around it.

Michael is a very passionate advocate for mental health awareness, with campaigns, raising money for mental health and by using his social media he highlights that mental health is not something that we should run away from but run towards.

After being diagnosed with clinical depression from a young age Michael now finds himself boxing as a tool amongst many that helps him through daily struggles. A fantastic and inspiring individual he is, I appreciate the honesty and willingness to get the message out and to offer a helping hand.

Deep, meaningful, honest and at parts was tough for me too!

I hope this helps someone out there and of course Michael and I are always reachable at our social accounts for anybody battling looking for a listening ear.

    Thanks again Michael.

    7. A few minutes with... Bertin Deverze

    7. A few minutes with... Bertin Deverze

Today we sit down with with a good friend of mine Bertin, now although Bertin is not a boxer he still has a mindset and a level of positivity that he carries which really inspires me.

Through meditation and keeping positive he shares with me on how at 15 years old, suffering a bad hip injury and being told by the doctor that he cannot play sports anymore how he managed to keep his spirits high and channel his positive energy elsewhere.

It was great to hear about his passion in meditation and how its helped him which is something I'm yet to really dive into but hearing it from him makes me want to take that step.

From lessons on overcoming failures and setbacks within business, injuries and life in general It was great to sit down and chat as always.

    Thank you brother!

    6. A few minutes with ... Michael Viloria

A few minutes with Michael Viloria... Today we sit down with Michael and congratulate him on signing his professional contract as he prepares himself to make his pro debut in the sport of boxing.

Although it hasn't always been an easy ride for Michael as he speaks on how and why he got into boxing and martial arts from a young age after facing a horrendous traumatic experience which made him seek change and really find within himself what it really means to be "strong"

Join us for part 2 as Michael and I speak on the subject of mental health which is a subject very close to Michael who is doing some amazing work in raising awareness and money in aid to help others.

Was great siting down with Michael, who is a truly inspiring individual. Tune In for part 2 you won't want to miss this!
