Episode 2 _ Oral and dental health

Episode 2 _ Oral and dental health

On Season 2, I bring you a health series!

In this episode, I sit down with Dr Phetola Mokgolo who is doing her community service and is a dentist in a public hospital in the North West province, South Africa. In this conversation, I get to know a bit more about the lovely doctor and her personal story before we dive into the frequently asked oral and dental health questions or rather the questions we ought to be asking. Have a pen and paper ready because she gives us some good tips and definitely helps us understand the importance of oral and dental health better and how it's linked to our general health. Dr Phetols does not end off this episode without giving us her two cents on the realities of Covid-19 on the ground and this serves as the reminder we all need to continue practising the World Health Organisation's recommended safety precautions and to remember we are still in a pandemic. Her golden tip to any everyone is to keep calm when you go see your dentist, which I found hilarious because it felt like she was talking to me directly. Dr Phetols also has a Youtube channel that you should all prescribe to, I meant subscribe LOL.

Episode 10_ Growing Up Black (Part 2)

Episode 10_ Growing Up Black (Part 2)

    "IT'S THE FINALE BABY!!"

On the final episode of season one, I have my good friend Yanela Tokota join me.  Yanela, is a Wits Law graduate, a broadcaster, a YouTuber and  "A star on the rise darling!". We go back in time reflecting on our childhood, our experience, the lessons we took from them and how this has largely impacted who we are now. This conversation is authentic and true as we don't shy away from discussing our relationships with parents, racial issues, traumas and fears that have come with those experiences, but we also discuss the joy, the happy memories and the good lessons we've gained from our childhood.  It's an insightful conversation as Yaya poses a lot of the questions back to me and we share a good chuckle as usual.

Once again, I am grateful that you still have me in your space and I hope I have earned the privilege of your time.
