DeLiberate is all about exploring the question of how do we begin to re-democratising democracy and reclaiming our world? What could it look and feel like?

With a variety of guests, we discuss the aims of G2G in bringing about systemic change through the acts of listening to one another and creating democratic spaces for all kinds of people to learn, listen, use their imaginations, connect experiences and issues and rebuild trust in ourselves and each other.

Note from the author: It's been a steep learning curve for me in putting this pilot episode together, and unfortunately the sound quality is not as good as it could be in certain places. Hopefully it won't detract from the content and I'm confident the sound in future episodes will be much better. So until then I appreciate your patience and hope you enjoy. Scott Herrett

Have you heard of the 'deliberative wave' sweeping  around the globe? This describes the increase interest and practice in  forms of deliberative democracy. In this podcast I sit down with Justin  Kendrick, Kate Dyer and Mim Black to explore what deliberative democracy  is and why it's time may have come.

    Guest Bios.
Justin  Kendrick is an anthropologist who works in Africa for the Forest Peoples  Programme, supporting communities to try and regain rights to their  land.

Mim Black is a freelance PR and comms specialist. She was XR  Scotland's press coordinator for two years and is currently setting up a  Scottish progressive comms network.

Kate Dyer has a personal  commitment to ensuring every voice is heard and to addressing  inequalities. In her professional life she has mainly worked in Africa  with a focus on accountability of governments to citizens. From there it  was just a small step to exploring the potential of deliberative  democracy towards those ends, as one of XR’s two representatives on the  Stewarding Group for Scotland’s Climate Citizen’s Assembly.
