    The Art and Science of Motorcycle Design

    Michael Littman, Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, describes the impetus for the work undertaken in his popular freshman seminar, “Art of Science of Motorcycle Design,” which he started with Glenn Northey, Supervisor of the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Manufacturing Center. Now in its third year, the seminar examines the motorcycle as an engineering system and provides hands-on examination of the different system components through restoration of vintage motorcycles such as the “Tiger Cub.” Presented as part of Alumni Day 2012.
