Role of a preceptor.
Playing the role of preceptor. What have I been doing, learning, feeling about this?
We all had preceptors in our RN/NP programs, some experiences might be better than others. Learning experiences can be frustrating, exhausting, or very informative. How do you feel about precepting students or being precepted? Did you have a bad experience as a student or preceptor?
Well I officially had my first NP to precept and these are my thoughts. -

Undercover nurse status lol
Someone asked me today why I don't ever post pictures of myself showing everyone I work as a healthcare worker.
Well it had me thinking.
And this is the reason why my career in the healthcare field has been so low key. -
Did I choose the right path? Why I chose to work in healthcare.
I just go over what my reasons why I chose to work in the healthcare field. We all have our different reasons for choosing our careers whether these decisions are due to finances, wanting to experience a new career, and life situations.
What I learned from this was nursing is tough, being a provider is tough.
I had to sit back and evaluate what was best for me for my goals, my situation, and what I wanted in life. The statement I was told that changed my life forever and helped me find figure out what I wanted and needed to do to meet my goals.
"Remember you've been in school for this long. Taken so many classes. Taking classes in all these different subjects and majors wasting time and money. Remember, your not their kid."
That one statement had me re-evaluating my wants and needs as well as consider my future. -
