This week I’m talking to a brilliant comedian, clown and actor John-Luke Roberts. He came over to my house quite specifically to cook me the perfect fried egg, and so he did. And what better episode to put out on Valentine’s Day than one with a guest who talks in such a beautiful love filled way about his new wusband. EGG TIME!

Welcome to HOOVERING, the podcast about eating. Host, Jessica Fostekew (Guilty Feminist, Motherland) has a frank conversation with an interesting person about gobbling; guzzling; nibbling; scoffing; devouring and wolfing all up… or if you will, hoovering.

In this episode I’m talking to one, I think, of the most talented comedians working today who works as hard as anyone I’ve ever met and deserves the astronomical trajectory she’s put her career on over the last few years - it’s comedian and co-host of ‘All Killa No Filla’, Kiri Pritchard-Mclean. We’re eating some sort of chocolate cluster nonsense that I’d made, at my gaff.

Hoovering - Episode 103: Laura Thomas PhD

Welcome to HOOVERING, the podcast about eating. Host, Jessica Fostekew (Guilty Feminist, Motherland) has a frank conversation with an interesting person about gobbling; guzzling; nibbling; scoffing; devouring and wolfing all up… or if you will, hoovering.

In this episode I’m talking to superstar intuitive eating focused nutritionist and star author of the smash hit tomb on intuitive eating in the UK ‘Just Eat It’ - it’s Laura Thomas. We met where she works at the London Centre for Intuitive Eating and talked about everything from whiskey to the full old history of intuitive eating, as a thing. Turns out she’s a much nicer person than me. Haha.

We talked about the Godmother of intuitive eating EVELYN TRIBOLE

And we discussed the, I now realise, fiercely fat phobic book FAT IS A FEMINIST ISSUE which I didn’t want to link to but there’s a link to an interesting article about it.

The chocolate we ate was from VEGO, SEED & BEAN and also HOTEL CHOCOLAT

Some of the fit snacks we mentioned scattered about her office were MINI-CHEDDARS, LOVE CORN and CADBURYS CHOCOLATE FINGERS

If you’ve never had veggie haggis get your face into a MCSWEENS immediately.

And the swanky restaurant in Mexico City she talked about was PUJOL. Yes please.

Hoovering - Episode 102: Scummy Mummies

Welcome to HOOVERING, the podcast about eating. Host, Jessica Fostekew (Guilty Feminist, Motherland) has a frank conversation with an interesting person about gobbling; guzzling; nibbling; scoffing; devouring and wolfing all up… or if you will, hoovering.

In this episode I’m talking to the incredibly funny, talented and honest Scummy Mummies. We get into everything from posh seafood platters at Christmas to pissing in carparks. And we talk about puking a weird amount. Sorry. Helen in particular is such a brilliant force for body positivity so this fits into my anti-diet-January-bonanza on that front but I figured it was time for some light relief from the deep ass old episodes of late.
