#68 From WORKAHOLIC to a BALANCED time management entrepreneur - Samantha Lane's Story
#68 Samantha Lane lost her father in a motorcycle accident at a young age. It effected her and her siblings differently. She decided that she was going to take on the roll of being the “good kid.” The one that did everything right, didn’t make waves, got good grades…the person that everyone could count on to not cause problems. Fast forward almost 15 years later and that mindset had turned her into a workaholic high achiever with no real balance in her life.
It took her having a significant health challenge to reset her perspective on life, balance and time management. With renewed focus on truly “living” instead of just being a business high achiever, she found herself looking for a better way to track her daily, weekly and monthly goals. All the “planners” that she found were somehow lacking what she needed or wanted so she decided to do something about it! She created her own time management planner and began to help others focus on a more balanced life.
Please join Shawn and Jen as they sit down with Samantha Lane to discuss life, health challenges, being a recovering workaholic and living a life of balance. You can connect with Samantha at www.origamiday.com and on her Instagram account @oragamiday.
#67 His Mother's disease helped him to find GRATITUDE and PURPOSE - Teddy Droseros' Story
#67 Teddy Droseros is a man on a mission to spread the practice of GRATITUDE everywhere he goes. It first came to him as he watched his mother’s body fight with her mind as she struggled to endure her fight with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). He found himself being grateful that his body functioned properly and didn’t fight with his mind to do daily tasks. Her struggle allowed him to focus on and be grateful for hundreds of daily tasks that most of us can do simply that we all take for granted.
His mission of gratitude quickly expanded as he created a non-profit 501(c3) charity called Grateful Peoples to raise money for gratitude journals in schools. His efforts culminated in over 7,000 (and counting) journals placed in schools across 4 countries to practice daily gratitude. HIs mission was further expanded when he had the idea of placing several hundred gratitude journals in coffee shops throughout the country where customers could write down what they were grateful for in the journals. He has received most of the journals back and now he is writing a book about what he learned from those coffee shop journals.
Please join Shawn and Jen as they talk with a young man on a mission to encourage everyone to practice gratitude daily. Being GRATEFUL is a great way to spark HOPE! Listen to this episode if you want to be inspired. You can connect with Teddy at www.gratefulpeoples.com. You can also follow his journey on Instagram @gratefulpeoples.
