A few years ago, I had the honor of being interviewed by my guy Aaron Baptiste. He was doing a project for class on Leadership and he thought of me to be interviewed. So when I say honor, I definitely mean that. To me, it's very humbling when someone comes and makes a request about a subject like leadership. It says so much about how they feel about you. It’s a Monday morning after a Food For Thought Produce Pick Up, which means we have a lot of compost to make. I got to get out there with the team, chat with Ms. Raynice, heard about her daughter Hailey getting ready for college and offered some advice and help. Got to also chat with the team about some funny stuff and then a conversation about how many chuggas you say before choo choo! Lol that was funny. All in all, another #Legendary day! Today was all about self care + family. On the weekends Nicole and I do our best to just spend our time with the girls and enjoy some type of outing. That included going to hear Nicole speak at the Food Leaders Lab Culmination, going on a walk to the store with the girls, and even a quick trip to Wholefoods. What a way to open up season 2. Got a chance to take a writer from Kaiser Health on a tour of the food landscape of Inglewood and South LA. Shared some facts about the built environment but also got the chance to showcase some amazing stories of businesses looking to transform their communities. Here's the first episode of a new segment I'd like to call #CarterTalks.😍 I'm always asking my daughter Carter questions, mainly because it's so amazing to me how she processes ideas. Her creativity is so fascinating to me. As she is growing up, her voice is changing, her thoughts are more sharp and pointed and I just want to capture it all.
