It has no doubt been a good year for Afro-music and Nigerian artists as we have seen more inclusions, recognitions and even a Grammy Award Nomination. However, there’s that down side to all the glamour. The international music scene is jumping on Nigerian artists and could it all be a marketing scheme or are they clearly seeing the “talent” that is in this part of the world... 2019 saw many inclusions to Nigerian artists with Burna Boy bagging a Grammy Nomination and also being featured on Beyoncé’s Lion King soundtrack “The Gift”, Alongside artists like Yemi Alade, Tiwa Savage, Wizkid, Tekno, and many other artistes....
