They know lots of the players (who frequently join the podcast) but aren’t afraid to criticize them
They often have extensive course knowledge. They are also pretty good golfers themselves. Well, except for Big Randy. 😏

Going downhill
I’ve listed to NLU since 2016, but unfortunately since LIV came on the scene they have gone downhill. Too much time is used now playing the moral superiority card. Soly (the host) has become highly petty, with constant cheap references about LIV, that have become hard to listen too due to their frequency. It is a pity as they used to offer a fresh fun golf perspective but have become an overly pro-PGA tour podcast thanks to their distain for LIV.
