Welcome to Ep.11 of Out of the Bubble and I strongly suggest you sit yourselves down with a cup of tea and be prepared to be blown away by this weeks guest. Kate Blakemore is the founder of Motherwell Cheshire womens charity which we will find out all about, a qualified counsellor, trainer, speaker and radio presenter and at every step of the way works tirelessly to support and encourage women in the community. Kate and I met at a Crunchy Talks event when we were both guests on Michela Di Carlo’s panel and I knew I wanted to find out more about all the great work she does. Not only that but she is a busy mum of three children so I honestly don’t know how Kate fits everything in!

What song always motivates you? Huge Oasis fan and Kates favourite is Wonderwall.

An inspiring book? I've read all of Richard Bransons books also Frank Skinners Autobiography.

Who inspires you? I think at the moment because of the time of year,The Suffragettes. I have a big thing about people having voices. I think if I'd been around back then I would have joined them. Anyone who has a voice and follows what they believe in.

Series 2, Ep.8 with Rachel Lankester, founder of Magnificent Midlife

Series 2, Ep.8 with Rachel Lankester, founder of Magnificent Midlife

Welcome to this weeks podcast with Rachel Lankester founder of Magnificent Mid-life, The Mutton club and can now add podcast host to her title. Rachel decided to create Magnificent Midlife through her own experiences of the lack of information out there for women in midlife and those going through the menopause. Rachel went through early menopause aged 41 and tackled all the issues head on but had to go out searching for the right kind of information and is now passionate about wanting to help other women have a more positive informative hub to go to. Her positive attitude to midlife is wonderful and her attitude to this next chapter in life is inspiring. We talk about her experience of the early menopause, her attitude to midlife, the importance of exercise and finding space to move forwards.

Favourite piece of music or song that motivates you?  "I would have  to choose two. The first one would be The Lark Ascending-Ralph Vaughan Williams and The Queen of Clubs by KC and the Sunshine Band."

What books has really inspired you?  "I'm currently reading The Wisdom Of Menopause by Christiane Northrup"

What advice would you give to women who are struggling at the moment and who feel that they've lost their way? "Just reconnect with who you are and who you want to be, because midlife is a great time to take stock. Who have you been before and who do you want to be in the future? Don't put the brakes on yourself now, really think what do you want now because it's your time to shine, it's your time to be you. Don't step back, step forwards"

I'm sure you will feel inspired by everything Magnificent Midlife offers, including the podcast which I have had the pleasure of being a guest on, which you can visit at www.magnificentmidlife.com. You can also keep up with everything Rachel is up to over on Instagram & Facebook @magnificentmidlife and twitter @magnifmidlife.

Series 2, Ep.6 Out of the Bubble, Kate Hardcastle MBE (aka the customer whisperer)

Welcome back to another dose of inspiration and this weeks’ guest has such a long list of achievements that it’s hard to know where to start. This week we have the pleasure of talking with the go to television expert on consumer and retail, Kate Hardcastle MBE, otherwise known as the customer whisperer.

We find out what drives Kate in business, where here passion to give back through her business and all her charity work comes from. Her love for music and singing with ForFunkSakeBand and all the great work Kate does with the Positive Image charity.

Favourite song that motivates you? That's just too hard to choose as I love so many different genres of music from Stevie Wonder to musicals.

So I chose to add Stevie Wonder - 'I Wish' for Kate as I'm a huge Stevie fan too.

A book that’s inspired you? Anything by Michael Gladwell (Blink, The Power of Thinking,  Talking to Strangers, David & Goliath).

Who inspires you? My children, everything you do is for them, I want to do my part to make the world better for them. I am inspired by people that want to collaborate with others. “I prefer to build bridges not thrones”. Love this quote from Kate to finish on.
