Ep.20, Out of the Bubble. Spreading some positive attitudes to midlife with Rachel Lankester, founder of Magnificent Midlife Liberté - Free to Be

    • Personal Journals

Welcome to this weeks podcast with Rachel Lankester founder of Magnificent Mid-life, The Mutton club and can now add podcast host to her title. Rachel decided to create Magnificent Midlife through her own experiences of the lack of information out there for women in midlife and those going through the menopause. Rachel went through early menopause aged 41 and tackled all the issues head on but had to go out searching for the right kind of information and is now passionate about wanting to help other women have a more positive informative hub to go to. Her positive attitude to midlife is wonderful and her attitude to this next chapter in life is inspiring. We talk about her experience of the early menopause, her attitude to midlife, the importance of exercise and finding space to move forwards.

Favourite piece of music or song that motivates you?  "I would have  to choose two. The first one would be The Lark Ascending-Ralph Vaughan Williams and The Queen of Clubs by KC and the Sunshine Band."

What books has really inspired you?  "I'm currently reading The Wisdom Of Menopause by Christiane Northrup"

What advice would you give to women who are struggling at the moment and who feel that they've lost their way? "Just reconnect with who you are and who you want to be, because midlife is a great time to take stock. Who have you been before and who do you want to be in the future? Don't put the brakes on yourself now, really think what do you want now because it's your time to shine, it's your time to be you. Don't step back, step forwards"

I'm sure you will feel inspired by everything Magnificent Midlife offers, including the podcast which I have had the pleasure of being a guest on, which you can visit at www.magnificentmidlife.com. You can also keep up with everything Rachel is up to over on Instagram & Facebook @magnificentmidlife and twitter @magnifmidlife.
