Philadelphia 76ers dominate Nets, but can’t avoid play-in with Heat
Even without the services of Joel Embiid, who missed Sunday’s regular season finale as a precautionary measure to manage his left knee, the Philadelphia 76ers were still able to easily dispatch of the Brooklyn Nets. Led by Tyrese Maxey’s 26 point performance, the Sixers pulled away in the third quarter and never looked back, holding a 15+ point lead for most of the final quarter.
Despite the Sixers taking care of business, they did not get the help they needed to avoid the play-in tournament, as both Indiana and Orlando won their games against the Hawks and Bucks, respectively. Because of that the Sixers will take on the Miami Heat in the 7-vs-8 play-in game on Wednesday and, if they win that, will likely have a first round matchup against former head coach Doc Rivers and the Milwaukee Bucks.
Derek Bodner and Rich Hofmann are in studio to break down the Sixers’ eight straight win, and to break down the playoff picture, and what that means for the weeks ahead.
