    My Cursed Ancestors

    My Cursed Ancestors

In the 17th century, Iceland was thrown into a panic about witchcraft. My ancestor Einar Nikulásson lived through almost the exact period of the "age of burning" and has gone down in folklore as "Galdrameistari" or "master of sorcery". These stories also implicated his descendants, especially Þórarinn Einarson, Jón Einarsson and Einar Jónsson (the last two are also my ancestors).

This episode explores these stories and the reputations of these real men, earned and unearned.

    The Matter of Atli

    The Matter of Atli

This is the third episode based on The Saga of the Völsungs, the last part of the story. We follow Guðrún and her relationship with Atli (aka Attila the Hun). There is a bit of tragedy. A lot of violence and a horrific scene which is not meant for children (even though children are involved).

Joanna Maja ,

Review after just two episodes :)

I think the stories are really good and you do a great work on getting all that knowledge and facts, one thing Id work on is intonation of your voice. It was very difficult to listen to the story about the only serial killer in Iceland - because the intonation is very monotonic and therefore makes you lose it quite easily. Without the intonation it is also a bit difficult to understand some words. Found that the “was murdered” was much easier to understand althou still some things were difficult. I would say “in Icelandic” before you name an Icelandic word because sometimes it’s difficult to know if you speak Icelandic or English. I know it’s your second language so in all it’s actually amazing and I do love the accent that you and some other Icelandic people have. Thank you ! It was fun listening to your podcast driving around Iceland :)
